Paintings of figures dressed in business attire wearing space helmets that alludes to some sort of narrative, while also combining the architecture of San Francisco with fantasy and film noir. That is Alec Huxley
It all began when I bought a Soviet space helmet on eBay. I was playing around with a bunch of space-themed work for my first show at D-Structure and painted two pieces in that style. Something in the cinematic and graphic look just clicked with me, so I started to explore it more.

Olympic Pinup Calendar 2014
Russian officials are going crazy next year, but let's leave all politics and take a look at the new amateur Olympic Pinup Calendar created by Andrew Tarusov (check his previous work "Apocalypse Tomorrow Calendar"). The new Calendar is a kind of humorous answer for the whole political situation around upcoming Winter Games. "Created by British designer Alex Chinneck, this fun intervention creates the illusion that a brick facade has melted right off the side of a building and into the front yard. Titled From the Knees of my Nose to the Belly of my Toes, the piece was installed in the English seaside town of Margate, and the artist chose to present it without any identifying information, leaving locals amused and scratching their heads."

The Bear and The Hare: London Christmas 2013
The unofficial opening of British Christmas was made by John Lewis stores with their heart touching advertisement "The Bear & The Hare". When I first seen it I could not imagine that it was done by hands. Elliot Dear and Yves Geleyn of Blinkink were the duo charged by Adam & Eve DDB with bringing the ideas to life and you get a nice sense of the painstaking stop-motion process they went through over a period of several months. Guys proved that everything what was made by hand and heart has absolutely different impact on a viewer. Watch the movie and making of below.

"Mestrovic's latest venture is an ambitious three-part journey into the unknown that showcases Lex's haunting ritualistic calligraphy, alongside stunningly choreographed Japanese Butoh performances set to a score which features original music by the Grammy Nominated DIPLO. The film stars famed Japanese actress Miho Nikaido, best known for her role in the cult-classic and previously banned film Tokyo Decadence which was written and directed by lauded novelist Ryu Murakami. Russian Art get Simpsonised by BHSAD Students
If you have a good sense of humour and a perfect visual memory than we got something for you. Moscow based High School of Art and Design (BHSAD) has a dozen of "kickass" tutors like Dmitry Karpov that squeeze students brain till the last drop of creativity. Physically and mentally. This time students got a brief to make a satire on famous Russian Art masterpieces. So, voila, Russian Art got Simpsonised what can be seen as a metaphor to current political situation. But truth is in eyes of beholder, so don't get it wrong - just smile :)
